Provincial Minister for Energy, Planning, and Development Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has revealed plans to provide solar panels to households in rural, hilly, and desert areas lacking electricity access. This initiative aims to address the needs of the most marginalized families, aligning with the manifesto and vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The Energy Department has initiated practical steps to implement this program, emphasizing the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) commitment to tangible actions rather than mere claims.
Minister Nasir Shah announced the establishment of solar parks across Sindh, including a 50 MW solar park near Karachi, with electricity generated from these parks to be allocated to the local grid for consumer convenience. Additionally, electricity services will be extended through regional power distribution companies HESCO and SEPCO. Efforts are also underway to harness electricity from waste sources, promising imminent implementation.
The upcoming budget will adhere to Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s 10-point agenda, including the provision of 300 units of free electricity through solarization projects. While expressing regret over not gaining a federal mandate, Minister Shah highlighted the positive impact of local initiatives, such as police actions against criminal elements in vulnerable areas.
Minister Shah urged the media to report positively on the Sindh government’s initiatives and police efforts, emphasizing the importance of highlighting such positive developments. Measures like security checkpoints have enhanced safety, demonstrating the government’s proactive approach to public welfare.
